How it all started

“Project Bon Bagay‍ ‍was born in the beautiful, sun-drenched hills of Maïssade, Haiti.

I learned everything I know by watching the daily comings and goings of my grandmother’s lakou. She is the steady heartbeat of our neighborhood. Her doors never lock, her kitchen never empties, and there is always a warm plate of food, an open room, or a hot or cool drink ready for anyone walking up the path—she even shared her well access when she had a pump.

i removed Much like my grandmother's lakou, this organization aims to cultivate that exact same sanctuary of care, nourishment, and communal shelter every single day.…..

….I am so incredibly happy to invite you in!”
